Mac – Day three
Okay, I confess. The Mac is getting less irritating. I am very much liking the instant response, compared to the Toshiba’s long “thinking about it, thinking about it, nope, it’s freeze and reboot time” response. I am also liking the fact that the speakers actually work, unlike the Toshiba’s, which gave up the ghost at least two years ago. Am I sold? Far from it. Both of these things I like would also be true of the Lenovo I didn’t buy. Am I adapting to the Mac slowly but surely? Hmm. Maybe?
One thing I am completely sold on is this Lobster Bisque recipe. Oh, my god, how yummy was that? (Krys, if you’re reading, I will definitely make this when you finally do visit. Assuming there are any lobster tails to be found on the island at the time.)
FYI, for anyone who may be inspired to give it a go, I made it with dry sherry, because that just seemed to ring true of restaurant lobster bisques I’ve enjoyed in the past. It was absolutely fucking delicious, but I’m sure it would be pretty good with a decent dry white wine. This version of the recipe is for two or three servings. Easy to double everything if you’re making for more people.
The big news today is that it’s raining. Hurrah! We haven’t had any rain to speak of for weeks. Good that I wasn’t planning a sneaky walk today. Good that the garden is getting a decent soak. Great that the rain will wash the pollen off the roof so I can reattach the drainpipe to the cistern. Maybe I’ll go mad and wash the car tomorrow. (Maybe not.)
Okay, fifteen minutes must be up by now and I honestly can’t think of anything more to say. I’ve got granola to make.
Here – have a cartoon, just for the hell of it.
Oh, and if anyone knows how to resize pictures in LibreOffice, please let me know.
I haven’t used LibreOffice but I bet you can Google it.
Can’t wait for the Lobster Bisque.
As I said, that’s assuming there are lobster tails to be found in the freezer section of the island grocery store when you visit. Definitely not the norm.
