More than enough for me

May 31, 2018

As I mentioned in April, just before I boarded a flight to London I received an email informing me that my play An Unhelpful Complication had advanced to the second round in the 2018 Canadian National Playwriting completion.

A few weeks later I received a second email informing me that my play had advanced to the third round. What wasn’t clear from that email was the fact that the third round was actually the final round. Out of the scores of plays submitted by playwrights across Canada, An Unhelpful Complication had made it to the final six.

Yesterday I found out the play was not selected as one of the three winners, but that’s okay. The fact that it was a finalist is more than enough for me.

Needless to say it was off to the pub last night to celebrate.

Maybe next year, eh?

Oh, and I guess I would be remiss if I failed to mention that the play is available for purchase.
