Challenge met

January 31, 2024

Well, I did it.

I didn’t say I was going to try, because I didn’t want to set myself up to fail, but on January 1st I set myself a challenge to write something – anything – every day this month. No matter how boring. Some days it was indeed a challenge to find anything to say. (Four pictures of Georgie and 150 words, anyone?) But I did it. Yay, me.

This is going to be short. I’ve already done my writing for the day. It’s my mum’s birthday and every year on her birthday I write a letter to her. The contents of that letter are no one’s business except mine. And, of course, hers – in the unlikely event she is actually receiving post at the cocktail party in the sky. I will say this (as I did in the letter). She died young and it’s a bit of a shock to realise that she’s now been dead for half my lifetime.

Still miss you, Mum.

Anyway, the challenge is over. I suppose the question now is can I keep it up? Can I keep writing something – anything – every day, no matter how boring? Anyone out there the least bit interested in me writing about pretty much nothing at all? Your call. Feel free to comment below.

For now, here’s another photo of Maisie, who seems to be interested in improving her vocabulary.

See you around.

I don’t know why my comments go into the void unless I send them to you on email. Like, I commented yesterday and…gone. Anyway! Keep writing.

Have been enjoying your slice of life writings this month. And, of course, the Maisie and Georgie pics. Keep going
