Elbows up!

March 10, 2025

So, the banker won by a landslide and will soon be the new Canadian Prime Minister. Congratulations, Mark Carney. Now get to work. Not only does the country need you to beat Pee Pee in the next federal election, we also need you to give the Wankmaggot a poke in the eye. (A poker up the ass would be even better.)

When I heard about Carney’s win, I turned on CBC news network to find out what was being said.

Trudeau was gracious. And that old scrapper Jean Chretien took the opportunity to offer the Wankmaggot a history lesson.

And then, towards the end of The National, there was a bit of a recap of Elbows Up.

Okay, I know Mike Myers, at the end of a recent Saturday Night Live appearance, wore a clear message t-shirt, but I did not know he had launched a movement.

So, with that in mind I went on Facebook and simply wrote: “Elbows up, Carney.” Short post got a lot of likes and one comment: “Exactly! #elbowspp.” Oh, it really is a thing. Clicked on the hashtag and came across a number of great things.

For example, the National Ballet of Canada orchestra playing a rousing rendition of O Canada before a performance of Swan Lake. Understand this. It is not the habit of ballet or opera companies in Canada to play the national anthem before a performance. Canadians aren’t generally big flag wavers (although I’ve seen more flags since January 20th than I’ve ever seen before) and don’t go hands-on-heart apeshit about the anthem (although check out the response from the opera crowd – first when they realise what the orchestra is playing and again when the anthem ends).

And then there was this song – a fantastic rewrite of ‘I Will Survive’. (Ha, ha, ha – “You’re not so great”.)

Canadians may be the polite, easygoing ones, but we can be riled up and, thanks to that anus-mouthed grifter south of the border, the country is more united than I’ve ever seen it. (With the possible exception of Alberta, but you almost always have to make an exception for Alberta.) But the great thing is, even when we do get riled up, we do it with humour, eh?

So, yes, soon-to-be-Prime-Minister Carney. Elbows up!
