It’s the women, stupid

Who the hell knows what’s going to happen in the US election on Tuesday? It should be a no brainer, but it seems that a sizeable number of US voters have no brain. (Which, as I write this, I realise fails to make my point, but never mind.)

I loved this recent post by Andy Borowitz.

Over the weekend, while the Wankmaggot was – what? – giving a microphone a blowjob, a poll from a previously incredibly accurate pollster in Iowa, revealed the astonishing news that Harris could very well win that almost-always Republican state.

What’s up in Iowa? It’s the women, stupid. And, it seems, a lot of granddads who want their granddaughters to have the same rights their wives and daughters had.  

Which leads me to feel more optimistic than I have been recently and is the reason I absolutely love this ad.

Math is not my strong suit, but… If this Iowa poll is reflective of the mood nationally it is extremely significant.

If women are 50% of the electorate and 50% of them vote Democrat and 50% normally vote Republican, but 50% of those Republican-leaning women are livid about the overturning of Roe and the turd responsible for it happening and decide to vote Harris, that means Harris gets 75% of the female vote, right? And if 10% of the men who normally vote Republican feel the same way those Iowa granddads feel, that’s pretty good news, too. (I did try to work out in my head what the percentage would be, but it was beyond me and I can’t find my calculator.) None of which includes the Republican women and men across the country who’ve said they will bite the bullet and vote for Harris just to keep the Wankmaggot out of the office.

And maybe, if the Lincoln Project managed to text this ad to every male Republican voter today, that total might just increase by more than 10%.

And that might just be 75% of both men and women. A landslide, in other words, that the stupid bloody electoral college cannot fuck up.
