Cat pics

My friend Ray frequently posts photos of his cat on Facebook. In fairness, Pikey is a pretty good looking, extremely photogenic cat.

I mean, look at those green eyes! What a cutie. 

Maisie is also unbelievably cute.

Yes, I know I’ve already posted this one, but it shows off her amazing blue eyes.

So cute I find myself taking more photos of her in the short time she’s been with me than I probably ever have with any other cat in my life.

And, when I realised that New Yorker cover was going to be in the background of the photo, I thought bonus! That will give me something to write about today. When I sat down a little while ago to do just that, it occurred to me: Surely I must have written something about that New Yorker cover before? I mean, it’s a pretty good story. So I did a search and sure enough it turns out I have already written about it. And here is what I wrote.

One day last week, when it wasn’t raining and before the snow and deep freeze, I spent some time in the garden tidying up Stella’s grave.

I also had a chat with her about Maisie. If there is a cat heaven (unlikely, I know, but if anything like heaven actually existed, it should be full of animals, not people), I hope Stella understands that opening my heart to Maisie in no way diminishes my love for her.
