Three-quarters there
We’re nearly done with Halfway There. One show, the Sunday matinee, left and what a blast it’s been.
The audiences have loved the play. Half a standing ovation (the back half) on Friday evening. And the first curtain call I’ve done since The Housekeeper at the theatre festival in 2012. (Usually we are lucky if people keep clapping until the last actor is off the stage.)
I have had so much fun playing lovely Rita with this lovely cast. As one audience member put it after seeing the show: “The flawless, unforced comic timing and the joyful chemistry between the cast members are what really lift Halfway There into the theatrical stratosphere.”
Yep. We made some magic.
God knows what I’m going to do with myself in the coming months. Usually all the first Sunday in November means is this.
And so it will later today. But first I’ve got the joy of doing this play one last time. Then there’s the after party. So all good today.
